Home Activities Youth Red Cross

Youth Red Cross

The Youth Red Cross is an important constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross. It is a group movement organized for students between 18 and 25 years of age. The YRC inculcates health awareness in the youth. It also aims at developing an understanding and acceptance of civic and human responsibilities and cultivation and maintenance of spirit of service and helpfulness to others among the youth. The volunteers are trained in relief work to be undertaken during natural calamities.

The significance of health services is stressed and the students are asked to practise the following:

  • Cleanliness in college premises and house surroundings
  • Preparation of health posters and mottos
  • Propaganda on health and cleanliness in villages, slums and towns
  • Medical check-up in slums
  • Cultural programs on prevention of diseases.
