THE INAUGURATION OF COLLEGE UNION AND ITS AFFILIATED ASSOCIATIONS - 24 September 2026

The Inauguration of the College Union and its Affiliated Associations for the academic year 2026–2027 was held on 24 September 2026 at 12.00 noon at the NMZ Auditorium, Mazharul Uloom College (Autonomous), Ambur. The programme was organised to formally introduce the newly appointed College Union office-bearers and to encourage students to actively participate in the academic, co-curricular, cultural, sports and social activities of the institution. The programme commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz P. Mohammed Safwan, II B.Com (G), followed by the translation presented by Miss M. Mushkan Fathima, II B.Sc. Data Science. This was followed by the recitation of Naat-e-Sharif by Mr. Sayed Muhammed Mohathaseem, III B.Sc. (CS). The gathering then stood respectfully for Tamil Thai Vazhthu, presented by the Microbiology Girls’ Chorus. The Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. M.G. Maaz, III B.Sc. (CS), Chairman, College Union, Shift I, who extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members and students. The Principal’s Address was delivered by Dr. K.H. Kaleemullah, Principal, Mazharul Uloom College (Autonomous), Ambur. In his address, the Principal emphasised the importance of providing continuous support and guidance to students in their academic and co-curricular pursuits. He highlighted the significance of discipline and dedication in achieving personal and academic goals. He encouraged the students to utilise the opportunities provided by the college responsibly and to contribute positively to the institution. An important segment of the programme was the introduction of the newly appointed College Union office-bearers. Dr. A. Noorul Ameen, College Union Vice-President, Shift I, introduced the office-bearers of Shift I, while Dr. A. Arifa Begum, College Union Vice-President, Shift II, introduced the office-bearers of Shift II. The newly appointed student representatives were encouraged to discharge their responsibilities with commitment, teamwork and a sense of collective responsibility. Following the introduction of the newly appointed College Union office-bearers, Mr. Taha Mohammed, Executive Committee Member, Ambur Muslim Educational Society, Ambur, addressed the gathering. In his address, he encouraged students to recognise their individual talents and abilities and to make use of the opportunities available to them. He emphasised the importance of coming forward with confidence, actively participating in college activities and demonstrating their abilities through various academic, co-curricular and extracurricular platforms. This was followed by the addresses of Dr. Shafee Ahmed Khan, Vice Principal, Shift I, and Dr. Uzefa Rashida, Vice Principal, Shift II. Their addresses provided valuable guidance and encouragement to the students and the newly appointed College Union office-bearers, highlighting the importance of responsible participation, discipline, teamwork and commitment to the institution. The Presidential Address was then delivered by Janab K. Firdaus Ahmed Sahib, Assistant Secretary, Ambur Muslim Educational Society, Ambur. In his address, he emphasised the importance of inclusive participation and encouraged students to actively involve themselves in the various activities of the college. He highlighted the importance of sports and education in the holistic development of students and stressed the need to promote academic excellence. He also encouraged the institution to organise more seminars, conferences and other academic programmes to enhance students’ exposure and learning. He emphasised that mutual respect among students, faculty members and all members of the college community is essential for maintaining a harmonious and progressive academic environment. He further highlighted the Five Pillars of Student Engagement – Include, Evolve, Participate, Represent, and Volunteer and Support. These pillars encourage students to ensure inclusive participation, continuously develop themselves, actively participate in institutional activities, represent the college with responsibility, and extend support and service to others. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Miss M.F. Ifra Suman, III B.Sc. Microbiology, who expressed gratitude to the management, Principal, Vice Principals, dignitaries, faculty members, student representatives and all participants for their valuable presence and support. The programme came to an end with the National Anthem, presented by the Microbiology Girls’ Chorus. The inauguration served as a meaningful platform for introducing the new College Union and its affiliated associations and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to student leadership, inclusive participation, academic excellence, discipline, dedication, talent development, sports, service and mutual respect. The programme inspired students to actively engage in the opportunities available to them and to contribute constructively to the growth anddevelopment of the college community.
