Curriculum Development Cell (CDC)
Curriculum development is a vital component of the higher education process. The Curriculum Development Cell (CDC) of Mazharul Uloom College (Autonomous) was established in the academic year 2025–2026 to facilitate the systematic design, development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the curriculum.
The Curriculum Development Cell works in coordination with the Boards of Studies, Academic Council, IQAC, Departments, Faculty Members, Industry Experts, Alumni, and other stakeholders to develop relevant, contemporary, skill-oriented, and outcome-based curricula.
As an autonomous institution, Mazharul Uloom College (Autonomous) follows the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), ensuring appropriate alignment among Programme Outcomes (POs), Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs), Course Outcomes (COs), teaching-learning strategies, and assessment methods.
The Curriculum Development Cell promotes the integration of emerging technologies, interdisciplinary learning, skill development, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, employability, and experiential learning into the curriculum to meet the changing needs of higher education, industry, and society.
The Curriculum Development Cell also facilitates periodic review and revision of curriculum and syllabi based on stakeholder feedback, academic developments, technological advancements, and industry requirements, thereby ensuring continuous improvement in academic quality and student learning outcomes at both UG and PG levels.

Mission
The Curriculum Development Cell (CDC) is committed to:
- Facilitating the development, implementation, review, and continuous enhancement of relevant and quality curricula at UG and PG levels.
- Promoting effective implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) through appropriate alignment of COs, POs, and PSOs.
- Integrating emerging technologies, interdisciplinary learning, skill development, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, internships, and experiential learning into the curriculum.
- Incorporating inputs from faculty, students, alumni, industry experts, academic experts, employers, and other stakeholders.
- Promoting learner-centric, innovative, and industry-oriented teaching-learning practices.
- Supporting continuous improvement in academic quality through systematic curriculum review, feedback, outcome assessment, and appropriate action.
- Ensuring curriculum development in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC, State Government, affiliating University, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
Objectives
- To ensure uniformity across various curricula of all disciplines by providing an outline of curriculum structure and format.
- To offer the student community a holistic education for an assured professional and personal life.
- To implement Outcome-Based Education for all the programmes and ensure the timely attainment of Course Outcomes and Programme Outcomes.
- To inculcate courses focused on gender studies, professional ethics, and environmental sustainability.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Curriculum Development Cell (CDC) of Mazharul Uloom College (Autonomous) shall undertake the following roles and responsibilities:
Syllabus design
To facilitate the Chairpersons of the Boards of Studies (BoS) in designing and developing quality syllabi in accordance with the academic requirements and objectives of the respective programmes.
Examination regulations
To coordinate with the Controller of Examinations in framing and periodically reviewing regulations, guidelines, and procedures related to Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) and End-Semester Examinations (ESE).
Programme structures
To facilitate the design and development of curriculum, programme structures, regulations, and academic guidelines for various programmes in accordance with the norms and guidelines of the UGC, State Government, affiliating University, and other relevant statutory and regulatory bodies.
New courses
To identify and recommend new courses, programmes, electives, value-added courses, and skill-based courses that enhance students' knowledge, skills, employability, entrepreneurship, and industry readiness.
Course review
To facilitate the Boards of Studies in reviewing and revising course content, course outcomes, programme outcomes, and programme-specific outcomes in line with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles.
Emerging areas
To facilitate the identification and incorporation of emerging areas, interdisciplinary subjects, technological advancements, skill-oriented components, and industry-relevant content into the curriculum.
Learner-centric teaching
To promote learner-centric and innovative teaching-learning practices through appropriate curriculum design, experiential learning, interdisciplinary learning, project-based learning, internships, and skill development.
Outcomes
- Updated and relevant curriculum aligned with current academic, industry, and societal requirements.
- Effective implementation of OBE with proper CO–PO–PSO alignment and outcome-based assessment.
- Enhanced student employability and entrepreneurship through skill-oriented and industry-relevant courses.
- Improved faculty competency in OBE, Bloom's Taxonomy, Rubrics, assessment, and innovative teaching-learning practices.
